Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) is a tree native to Western Australia. It is a rapidly depleting timber commodity with an ever-increasing global market.
WA Sandalwood Plantations now manage 1570 hectares ( approx 3900 acres) of commercial sandalwood plantations in Western Australia.
The Company continues to research new market possibilities within the major sandalwood markets in India, Taiwan and China and has developed strong relationships with sandalwood traders in those areas.
WA Sandalwood Plantations has well defined management agreements with each individual plantation company through which it establishes, maintains and harvests the project.
In addition, WA Sandalwood Plantations is committed to the continual research and monitoring of new developments within the marketplace. The establishment of relationships with end users and traders of sandalwood will be beneficial to all plantation companies.
With demand for sandalwood continuing to increase, and the supply of naturally occurring sandalwood on the decline, the time is right to capitalize on the global sandalwood market by increasing the supply of sandalwood from plantations.
The 2009 project closed in October. The project is currently under establishment .
The next available group project will be available for subscription from August 2010. Please click on the link below to register for the prospectus.
